Kirk Buxton’s story is a testament to the redemptive power of the human spirit. While in recovery for battling his personal demons, he turned his life around by overcoming his challenges and developing a successful business.
His story begins in 2017. After years of intense struggles, Kirk was determined to end his life. While driving on the Sea to Sky highway, he took off his seatbelt and drove into a rock wall. Despite his attempt to end it all, he survived. From that moment on, he began rebuilding his life — not only overcoming personal obstacles but also launching a successful business. Production of his kefir sodas started out of a commissary kitchen in 2020, then moved to a kombucha-making facility. In October 2022, Kirk’s Probiotic Soda moved to its own dedicated production site in North Vancouver, where Kirk grew up.
Today Kirk’s Kefir is a success story. The company expects to ship 450,000 bottles of probiotic soda and hit one million dollars in sales over the next year.
